EYMRC

Streamed from TEDxLeicesterSalon

European Youth Music Refugee Choir (EYMRC) was founded as a way to combat the negative light that is cast onto refugees. The choir brings together dozens of young refugees from across the world who now call England home. They speak a whole range of languages, have a host of backgrounds and share a passion for connecting with others and embracing one another’s cultures and experiences, all through music.

Coming together for the first time in August 2018 and performed Chris Wilcox’s Ubi Bene Ibi Patria, a specially commissioned piece of music for this choir at Leicester Cathedral. The aim of the EYMRC is to continue to bring young people together to create music, make friendships and tour different communities to show togetherness and unity.
